Hello there everyone! Erum here with a new project. Today's card features the gorgeous Poppy Garden Stamp Set which I will be coloring with the Artist Markers. Remember that I do have a process video for this project at the end of this post so be sure to check it out!
Stamping:
I started by stamping a couple of flowers and several leaves from the Poppy Garden Stamp Set on to Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock in Permanent Black Ink. In order to get a perfectly crisp image, I used a stamp positioner and stamped the images twice. Next, I let it sit for a few minutes and also went over the images with my heat tool to set the ink.
Coloring:
To begin, I added color to the flower centers first. Warm Sunshine and Buttercream Artist Markers were my choices for the flower centers. Next, I started to color the petals starting from dark to light. First, I added the darkest color to show depth and shadow, which is, Cosmic Berry from Artist Markers Set D. To blend out the Cosmic Berry flicks, I used Purple Wine Artist Marker. And I added quite a few strokes of it to show subtler shadows where the notches and folds in petals are. The third shade I used is Puffy Heart and, in the end, I added very little of Rose Quartz. I also used the tip-to-tip method. For this, I picked up color from the tip of Cosmic Berry with Rose Quartz to add streaks or vein-like patterns on the petals.
For the leaves, I used the Moss, Olive, Parrot, and Bamboo Artist Markers from the Tropical Forest Artist Markers Set. Next, I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images and set them aside.
Arranging the Poppy Garden:
For the card front, I used Moonrock Cardstock. I added splatters of black paint from the Watercolor 36 Pan Set and of Forest Glades Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray.
Then, I arranged all my images on foam tape and added the sentiment. The sentiment is from Across the Pond Stamp Set I stamped this in Obsidian Pigment Ink. I finished off the card with some White Satin Sequins, which will be available in the Altenew store very soon!
