Hi everyone! Erum here with another session of Creative Coloring with Erum. Today I am using the new Bursting Dahlia Stencil and the Artists' Watercolor 24 Pan Set to make the simple watercolor card below.
To start, I traced out the dahlia pattern onto watercolor paper with a permanent black pen (0.6).
Next, I used Lapis Lazuli, Shades of Purple and Crystal Water to color the flower. For this, I applied water to the petal generously and then dropped in pigment. You can start off with blue or purple, whatever fancies you. I do it both ways to achieve variation among petals.
Once the paint dried, I fussy cut the flower. Next, I added black paint splatters on the card front and adhered the flower with foam tape. To finish, I popped up the sentiment which is from the Engraved Flowers Stamp Set.
You can watch the video below or on YouTube to see how I colored the image.
Thank you, everyone, for stopping by! I hope you were inspired to create your own simple watercolor card using Altenew products.

Absolutely stunning, Erum! Quick question: I’m not familiar with crystal water…could you explain, please?
Crystal Water is the name of one of the blues in the 24 pan watercolor set.
