Hello there, everyone! Get your crafting game on as we welcome you to the Altenew Educators’ “Secret Card Recipe” Blog Hop and Linky Party!
Our esteemed Educators have taken part in this hop to inspire you by sharing their beautiful work. Right now, we have 62 Certified Educators from all over the world! Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) was developed to improve crafting skills and to master new crafting techniques. Here's what the Educators' have to say about the program.
Secret Card Recipe – Alcohol Markers + Heat Embossing
The theme of the hop today is “Secret Card Recipe”. On each stop of the hop, you will find the Educator sharing their own recipe for their project. You can use your very own, create a card and link your project below too!
I love the touch of gold and the depth of alcohol markers, so my “Secret Card Recipe” is alcohol markers and heat embossing.
- On a panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock, heat emboss the floral image from the Gracious Peonies Stamp Set in Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder.
- Use Artist Alcohol Markers in Peach Perfect and Rouge to color the flower in a flicking motion, leaving the tips without color.
- Use Artist Alcohol Markers in Almond Butter and Vanilla Cream to color the leaves in a flicking motion.
- Use Coral Bliss and Autumn Blaze Woodless Coloring Pencils to add detail to the petals.
- Next, use Peach Perfect Woodless Coloring Pencil to soften the flicks on the tips of the petals.
- Use Sicilian Amber Woodless Coloring Pencil to add detail to the leaves.
- Die cut the image with the coordinating die.
- On a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Woodgrain Powder Cardstock, apply a few black splatters and let them dry.
- Adhere the image with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
- Die Cut sentiment from Versatile Greetings Die Set out of Brushed Rose Metallic Cardstock.

I’m looking forward to checking out the ideas!
Wow such a beautiful card!!
Oh wow this is just stunning. I love the colours you used for the flower. The rose gold embossing powder is gorgeous. I love that you left the background plain with a few black sprinkles and the sequins. Perfect 🥰
Love this card! I thought you had to emboss after alcohol markers, though.
That is what I normally do, Sara. But since this coloring style did not require a lot of blending, you can heat emboss before coloring with markers.
beautiful! touch of gold makes anything classy ;)
Love the delicate peach coloring accented perfectly with the gold foil.
That image is gorgeous. Love the touch of gold.

This is simply beautiful. I don’t know how “simple” it is but I love the added depth and texture that the colored pencils add. Will definitely give this a whirl.

Beautiful coloring, Erum! I love your card!
Erum’s inspiration card is gorgeous and it’s always a treat to see what she comes up with.
I love the peach with gold. Absolutely stunning
Shoot, I was going to participate, but lost track of time. Like, it’s over a week over.
I absolutely loved this hop and the theme of it, and there were some people whose stuff especially resonated with me. I just haven’t had much time lately or I would have commented at the time, reading here and there in waiting rooms.
