Hello and welcome to the Altenew Educators Clean and Simple Blog Hop and Linky Party!
Erum Tasneem here kicking off the hop and today, our Certified Educators have created beautiful projects to share with you. The hop is filled with so much inspiration for you to get you started on those clean and simple projects that so many of us struggle with. So, don't forget to hop along with us. Plus, there are tons of prizes too!
Well, my cards may not be clean, but they are indeed simple to create, and I have a video tutorial for you too! I am using the newly released Brushed Metallic Cardstock and combining them with Pigment Inks and our gorgeous 3D Embossing Folders.
Clean and Simple Cards
Brushed Silver Metallic Cardstock
- Cut the Brushed Silver Metallic Cardstock 1″ smaller than the card base.
- On Areca Palm 3D Embossing Folder, apply Jet Black Pigment Ink by swiping the ink pad across the folder on the backside where the folder's name is written.
- Place the Brushed Silver Metallic Cardstock panel carefully, close the folder, and run it through the die-cutting machine.
- Take out the panel and heat set it completely. Once Pigment Ink is heat set, it becomes permanent.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 if you want to get a darker result. You may want to lightly spritz the panel's backside with water to prevent the cardstock from cracking.
- Adhere panel onto that black mat slightly larger than the panel.
- Adhere the panel onto a card base.
- Die-cut the letter “E” from the Classic Alphabet Die Set a few times and adhere it to the center of the card.
Brushed Rose Metallic Cardstock
I repeat all the previous steps for this next card. But, this time, I used the Brushed Rose Metallic Cardstock. And I used the other side of the Illusion Triangles 3D Embossing Folder. Unfortunately, the first one didn't give me a great result, and I will show that to you in the video.
For the sentiment, I used the Fine Alphabet Die Set. You can see the gorgeous grunge created by the Jet Black Pigment Ink.
Brushed Copper Metallic Cardstock
How gorgeous does this look?!
This card features the Beautiful Baroque 3D Embossing Folder. Repeat the same steps, more or less. But, when applying ink on the folder, apply the Ruby Red Pigment Ink, and then to the extreme edge that would cover the left side of the panel, apply Grapevine Pigment Ink. And look at the gorgeous ombre effect! It looks radiant! Super fiery!
Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock
For this card, I used the Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock. First, I applied Paper Bag Pigment Ink onto the Daisies 3D Embossing Folder, embossed the panel, and heat set it. Then after cleaning the folder, I applied Grapevine Pigment Ink, embossed the panel, and heat set it. Lastly, I cleaned the folder again, then I applied Jet Black Pigment Ink onto the folder, embossed it, and heat set it.
The most important thing to note is to heat these panels very well. Because a slight nail mark or a thumbprint will also remove the ink if it has not been heat set properly. For the sentiment, I chose “hey” from All Aout You Word Die Set.
You can watch all the panels taking on a new grungy look in the video below or on YouTube.
