Hello :) Happy Monday! I have an artsy, grungy card to share today featuring the Blossom and Bloom Stamp Set. And I will show you ways to create this card in a clean and simple style as well. But for that, you will have to watch the video which is at the end of this post!
Start by heat embossing the image from the Blossom and Bloom Stamp Set onto A2 Watercolor Cardstock in Antique Gold Embossing Powder. Next, use Watercolor Brush markers in Rubellite and Midnight Violet for the flowers and Jet Black for the leaves.
Now, to color, you will just scribble a bit of pigment onto the petals and leaves. Once done, spritz the panel with water and let the pigment flow. If there are areas that don't have any pigment, you can use your paintbrush to move the pigment around. Or use the Watercolor Brush Marker directly to apply more pigment. When done, set it aside to dry.
After the panel has dried, you can further add texture to the image by adding clean water splatters. Let them sit for a few seconds before sopping them up. Similarly, you can also add a blob of water to areas you want light, as in a specific petal or leaf. Once dried, use the coordinating die to die-cut the image.
For the background, begin by applying water to the panel. Add a light color wash of diluted Jet Black pigment. Stop when you are happy with the grey shade you really like. Next, add diluted splatters of Rubellite, Purple Wine, and Jet Black pigment. These will bloom and become part of the background as the panel is still wet. But if your panel has dried, and then you add splatters, these would be much more visible then.
Keep working on the panel till you are happy with the look. Dry it completely before adding concentrated black splatters from the Essential 12 Pan Set. Then adhere the floral die-cut to the panel with Instant Foam Dimension Tape.
Then heat emboss the sentiment onto black cardstock and adhere it as well. The black cardstock balances the black splatters and as a result, adds a great look to the card. To finish, adhere a few Satin Gold Sequins.
