Hello everyone! Erum here with a clean, minimalistic-looking watercolor card featuring the Build-A-Flower: Coneflower Stamp Set.
Start by stamping the image onto A2 Watercolor Cardstock in Polar Bear Crisp Dye Ink. Smush Icy Water, Winter Lake, and Arctic Mountain Crisp Dye Inks onto the Watercolor Palette. The inks are from the Northern Shore Crisp Dye Ink Family.
Start applying pigment using the Icy Water pigment with a wet paintbrush. Make sure to keep the concentration light. You can come back in again with a more concentrated pigment to add more shadows. The next color to add is Winter Lake. Add this to define the shadows even more. Remember that the petals that are under other petals will be darker.
The coloring process is relatively easy and very relaxing. Just keep in mind where the shadows would go and where the raised portions of your petals are. Once you have this covered, all you need to do is apply dark pigment where the shadows are lighter where the highlight is.
To add the final darkest shade, I will use Arctic Mountain pigment and add it where I want to show the intense shadow.
To finish, I will add a few diluted and concentrated splatters. And then stamp the sentiment from the Sentiments and Quotes Stamp Set.
You can watch the process video below or on YouTube.
Thank you for stopping by! See you next week!

Thank you for sharing this monochromatic painting! It is very interesting to me to learn about the intensity of color and how to create it– even if it means just adding a line of black and letting the eye see another shade of blue instead. Thanks, Erum.
