Welcome, Altenew fans. Lilith here with two cards created for my Lovely Layers with Lilith series. Today I will be adding simple layers using Altenew's Woodless Watercolor Pencils. They are great for creating backgrounds and are super easy to layer. The colors in these cards are super vibrant, and you can create an array of combinations. For these two cards, I used only a handful of supplies. You don't need a lot of products to create colorful, striking cards.
Supplies:
- Woodless Watercolor Pencils
- Flowing Hearts Stencil
- Flowing Butterfly Stencil
- Castle Garden Stamp Set
- Watercolor Brushes
I created two cards using the same technique but different shades. You could also add gouache on top if you want to create a more mixed media look. I love the washed effect in each card, and by changing the direction of your strokes, the whole look changes too.
I never thought of cutting out a colored stencil image, but I really love the look of the butterfly and the heart. This is definitely something I will try again in the future.
