Hello there! It's Nathalie with a new idea on how to create an elegant and colorful title page featuring the new Journey Abroad Ensemble. This new set of products is filled with geometric shapes, delicate touches, and interest details that make it so easy to combine them into all sorts of projects. Today, I want to show you how I am combining some of the pieces into a new title page for my family 6×8 album.
I am in love with the new Journey Abroad Hot Foil Plate. This time, I am using it to bring both shine and texture to the project. Yes, there is a lot more you can do with your hot foil plates!
I am taking advantage of the detailing lines of the Journey Abroad Hot Foil Plate to bring texture to the spread. I used the plate and embossing mats ( these will change based on the die-cutting machine you are using) to help me achieve the texture. Keep in mind that the hot foil plate is a bit thicker than your regular embossing folder, stencil, and/or die, which means you will have to check the shims/plates you are using when embossing the paper.
In order to complete my elegant and colorful title page, I embossed the hot plate twice leaving a small white space between the impressions. Now, to bring in the color, I am using the coordinating Journey Abroad stencil and the new Atomic Fresh Dye Ink Bundle. I was careful to leave a few of the embossed spaces white so that the texture of the page shows a bit more.
To soften the colorful background, my choice is to add one simple Delightful Day bloom as part of the title of the page. This floral brings elegance to the page. In addition, I am adding a bit of shine by using one of the Journey Abroad foiled panels and the new Ornate Nesting Die set, and Fine Alphabet Die Set to complete the title work of the page. You can see how this page comes together in my latest episode of Inspired By A Card with Nathalie on Youtube or watch it here:
As you can see, creating an elegant and colorful title page takes no time and the results are just beautiful!
I cannot wait to see how you will use this idea and create a project of your own! Remember to share your finished work with us, we love seeing what you create!
XO
