Hello friends! Welcome to the first day of our Crafty Friends Blog Hop!
Today we are celebrating friendships formed through our mutual love of everything crafty! Do you remember your first crafty friend?
Back when I started blogging about card-making in 2011, I didn't know many crafters, and my first few posts probably went unread :) Then there came along a person who started leaving comments frequently. Her comments were always well thought out expressing genuine interest in my work. I was very thankful for her words of kindness and encouragement.
We were both big fans of one particular challenge blog and submitted projects to almost every single of their new challenges. We were even chosen to be guest designers at the same time, and eventually ended up joining the design team of that challenge blog. I am sure some of you have already figured out which challenge blog I am speaking of :) It is non other than the Runway Inspired Challenge hosted by my friend and co-founder of Altenew, Jen!
As for my first crafty friend with whom I shared my journey of card-making, it was Wida Miller. We became friends six years ago, and even though I have yet to meet her in person, we still chat once in a while and send each other cards. I have a feeling we will meet each other some day, sooner rather than later. Wida doesn't blog anymore, but in memory of our days on the Runway, I decided to case one of my favorite cards of hers:

You start out by making beautiful friendships online, then someday you meet these friends in person, and they are just as kind and genuine as you have thought them to be. This has been my experience from being a part of this beautiful community. I am grateful for all the wonderful individuals whom I have met through our mutual love of paper crafting, and I look forward to meeting more of you in the years to come!
