Hello, friends! Welcome to the first day of our Crafty Friends Blog Hop!
Today, we are celebrating the beautiful friendships formed through our mutual love of crafting! Ever since I started designing cards and sharing them on my blog, I have met a lot of talented crafters who inspire me in different ways.
Today's project was inspired by two beautiful people whose amazing talent at embroidery always leaves me in awe. Leigh Houston does extraordinary cross-stitch and needlepoint patterns on cards, and Laura Jane‘s embroidery on stamped images is simply stunning.
I thought I would give needlepoint embroidery a try, and I must say, I respect the patience and talent of all who embroider! Please excuse my rudimentary attempt at this:
I used an image from the Persian Motifs Stamp Set and stamped it on a piece of gray felt using Permanent Black Ink. I then proceeded with stitching using metallic gold thread and some embroidery floss.
Once the embroidery was done, I used the largest circle die from Halftone Circles Nesting Die Set to cut out the stitched piece. I also cut out a black frame using the Create-A-Wreath Die Set and used it to mat my felt piece. To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from Needlework Motifs Stamp Set on a strip of white cardstock and adhered it diagonally using foam tape.

Beautiful card – embroidery is time consuming, and I’d do it for a super special occasion. My mom used to embroider pillow cases and I still have them to this day. Never thought to try it with stamps (she had pretty iron-on’s), but that is what your post has done. Thank you!
So pretty. Love the stitching!
