Project
For this project, I kept things relatively simple, allowing the details on the blooms themselves to really shine from a deep green background. Let's get started with the details!

I began by creating the flowers from Craft-A-Flower: Cosmos Layering Die Set using three different shades of coral cardstock: light, medium, and dark, as well as some foliage cut from some deep green cardstock. These dies are so easy to put together, made even simpler when referencing the color layering guide included in the packaging for each die set. I adhered all of the layers using liquid adhesive, adding some bright yellow centers to maintain a fairly realistic aesthetic.

Then, I trimmed down an A2 card base from the same deep green cardstock from which I cut the foliage. I used the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan set to flick some random, artistic gold speckles on the card base, which adds a bit of shine as well as some interesting texture and helps to differentiate the background from the foliage. I kept the card base the same color as the foliage to make certain that those beautiful Cosmos blooms popped off of the page!

Next, I adhered the Craft-A-Flower: Cosmos die-cut blooms in a cluster using foam adhesive, and then added the foliage using liquid adhesive. I only adhered the very center of each foliage die-cut, and then curled up the edges of each leaf to help make them pop up off of the background a bit and add even more texture to the card front. I added a Simply Hello die-cut, which I cut from some matte gold metallic foil, again using foam adhesive. Finally, I added a few metallic gold gems to help complete the “rule of three” for the metallic accents.
Well, that's all for my project today! Now, to celebrate this release, we have a blog hop full of inspiration and prizes!

I have loved Cosmos since I was a child, my mom always planted one huge section of our garden with them. These dies perfectly capture the delicate beauty of the flower.

Very pretty layering die set! Great shapes and sizes! Lovely samples Team! Thank you for the inspirations!
I have always liked Cosmos. These are also beautiful. I like the hint about leaving the foliage as texture with the same color as the background so as not to take away from the glorious blossoms. The gold splatter and sequins are the perfect embellishment. Thanks for the inspiration
