Hello there, everyone! Happy Friday! Lydia here. Today, I'll be sharing an easy way to ‘color' with alcohol ink backgrounds.
To start, I created some backgrounds on Yupo Paper. For the flowers, I used Hydrangea, Pinkalicious and Aqualicious Alcohol Inks, and for the leaves, I used Firefly, Grass Field, and Citrus Burst Alcohol Inks. I started by adding drops of the inks to the Yupo Paper and moved the color around using a felt blending, too. You can also use blending solution to make moving the color around easier. Once I was happy with the backgrounds, I let them dry.
I then white heat embossed flowers and leaves from Airbrushed Flowers Stamp Set onto the backgrounds. Be careful not to heat the Yupo Paper too much as it will buckle. Once the images were stamped, I die cut them using the matching dies.
For the background, I used Diamond Stars 3D Embossing Folder; I just love that subtle texture. The sentiment comes from the same stamp set as the floral images.

Really Gorgeous card!!!!
Beautiful card, Lydia!
This was totally amazing. Have never seen flowers cut from these alcohol ink creations. I love it! Getting out my supplies for sure.
Stunning, Lydia! Thanks for sharing this technique. Now time for me to get busy with my alcohol inks and make some beautiful backgrounds!
Just watched today’s video. Absolutely love the card and the way they coloring was done with dye refills. But you apparently don’t sell the glossy paper and don’t suggest where we can get it. Please help us find it. Thanks.
Gorgeous colors!
What Anti Static Powder did you use?
Beautiful. I have struggled with the YUPO buckling.
