Welcome to our Color Therapy Blog Hop!
Life can get stressful and many people find coloring to be the best therapy! This blog hop features projects from fantastic designers, all colored with our Artist Markers, Watercolor Brush Markers, Watercolor 36 Pan Set, Metallic Watercolors, or Ink Sprays!
Altenew is collaborating with the amazing Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker to inspire crafters to find joy through coloring. Kathy is celebrating her 14th “30 Day Coloring Challenge” until the end of November 2019. Please participate in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge by coloring something, then share it on social media using the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. We hope you find “Me Time” and enjoy the benefits that coloring will give!
Kathy is insanely talented and I tried to channel my inner Kathy with this project (although I know my skills don't quite meet hers!). Some of the designers on the hop are sharing works-in-progress, which is what I have here:
My preferred coloring medium is watercolor, but I went outside of my comfort zone this time by using Artist Markers. Would you believe I spent over 2 hours just coloring a flower and two leaves?! Is that because I'm still a bit of an alcohol marker newbie, or is that how long it takes for everyone?
The flower and leaves are from the Wispy Begonia Stamp Set, and I stamped them out with Permanent Black Ink so the lines wouldn't bleed. I plan on die-cutting these out and using them on a future project!
PRIZES
Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners and Kathy from The Daily Maker is also giving away a 5”x7” original watercolor artwork (including a custom frame). Please leave a comment here on the Altenew Card Blog by 11/22/2019 for a chance to win.
We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 11/24/2019.

I love the stunning color combinations from brilliant to subdued. Thank you for the inspiration!
Such beautiful coloring
Beautiful colouring. I learned to colour (and am still learning) by participating in Kathy’s 30 day colouring challenge. Now I love to colour. Looking forward to the hop.
Love to color and Kathy is “da bomb”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my first time joining the 30daycolor challenge and It’s been fun!
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful project
Such an interesting colour combination on the flower! This is the first time I am doing the challenge and it’s been a great opportunity to try new techniques and combinations :) Very grateful to Kathy for starting this awesome challenge!
Gorgeous! I practically faithfully but still long for the day when my coloring is at this level.
Your colouring with the markers is so incredible and inspiring. It is very soothing; perhaps that is why I enjoy card making so much. I remember when I was studying in university for various courses, I bought myself both the physiology and anatomy colouring books – both to study with and also to just calm me and help me to focus. That was also a good 25 years ago, before colouring became so popular! Now, we use it with a lot of our patients to help distract and refocus them as needed – or just as a way to pass time.
Wonderful coloring! And I haven’t missed a day on the challenge yet! ?
Gorgeous coloring on this beautiful bloom! Very inspirational.
Simple gorgeous…

Now I just need to get all the different colored markers
Those marker colors are luscious!
LOVE to color in all mediums. I just finished coloring stamped/embossed poinsettias and holly branches on Christmas cards and look forward to seeing what all the bloggers on this Hop can inspire me to do next!

Very beautiful! I wish I can color like that!!
I watercolor and use my pencils, too. I think you did a great job on these; colors are so vibrant! Looks like markers blend very well too! Love the images!
I love coloring – it’s so therapeutic!! I would love to try these markers – gorgeous!!
Such a wonderful hop. I need to get busy with my markers and use them much more often.
The time spent on coloring the flower and leaves is totally worth, fir the results are beautiful.I loved the colors you have used to color the flower.
Kathys 30 day color challenges are so much fun!!
Love the depth on your flower and leaf. I can’t wait to see all the inspiration on the hop.
Beautifully coloured flower!
Beautiful coloring!
I have not attempted colored pencils and have only recently started using Copics. I have a long way to go before I am as good as you.
Beautiful coloring. I love the gorgeous bloom.
Jennifer, I think that flower is beautiful and it doesn’t matter how long it took you! I find alcohol markers a little of a mystery and I think you did really well.
I have so enjoyed the artistry of Altenew. For someone who is definitely not an artist, I find so much inspiration. (And I love my new stamps)
I really appreciate Altenew’s commitment to making coloring easy enough and understandable enough that the normal, previously unartistic person can create beauty by following your many blogs and using layered stamps. Thanks!
Jennifer, thank you for all the time you took to do the beautiful coloring. I really appreciate Altenew for collaborating with the Coloring Challenge and providing such excellent products.
Beautiful coloring!
Awesome!! I love your work!!!
Two hours! I don’t have that kind of patience! But if I every get a good set of markers, I’ll definitely give it a try.
Amazing… I would love to be so talented and color such beautiful cards..
Wonderful giveaway!! Your coloring is sublime!! Kathy is a great teacher. While I have not participated in any of her 30 day challenges, just knowing about them helps me to color or create every day!!??
Your artist markers make it so easy to color any images. I love them more than my copics, because your stamping inks match them, and so do the new paper collections.
Hello Jennifer,
Your colouring on the flowers were super great!! The colours you chose worked beautifully together!! And the leaves are so realistic that I want to touch them! I wish I could colour every day, let alone 2 hours on one creation!! You inspire me!!
Wow, what a wonderful giveaway. Would love to win! Kathy is such a great colorist.
So excited to see everyone’s ? I love coloring in almost any medium even if it takes new hours to do.
So inspirational and healing…Color Therapy, yea! Norine Borys is AMAZING, in my opinion. Thanks Altenew for all you do for card makers.
Such such fabulous coloring and ‘sweet’ giveaway ❣️ I hope I’m the lucky one?
I have been wanting to learn to color with alcohol markers but they were too expensive. The ones from Altenew are at a more reasonable price point.
You did a wonderful job coloring the flowers and the leaves for an alcohol newbie!!
I have never spent two hours on coloring such a small amount of stamped items but your effort sure made a statement. I love your coloring and please show the final results.
Jennifer for going outside your comfort zone it looks very pretty to me. Thanks to all for doing the hop.
What amazing inspiration! And also the personal stories about coloring. Thank you!
Your coloring is incredibole!!!I’m going to have to try Kathy’s coloring challenge.
The great thing is everyone creates beauty. Different but beautiful! Smile when you color! Send it and the smile will magically appear on the face of the recipient!!
