Hi there Altenew fans! It's Ashley, and I have a new layout to share with you today, using the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I love using circles on my layouts. There's just something about the contrast of a circle design with the 12×12 square card stock or patterned paper. Cut files are one of my favorite techniques with patterned paper, so I thought it would be fun to cut one of the papers from the Reflection Collection into a large, repeating circle design.
Once I had the circles cut, I added machine stitching to secure the paper to the layout, and for added texture. I wanted my photo at the center of the layout, so I printed a circle photo and cut it by hand with my scissors. Since I was going for a cleaner look on the layout, I decided to keep my title and embellishing toward the center of the circles. The wood buttons are my favorite embellishment from the collection, so I couldn't resist adding a couple of them to the layout.
I finished embellishing with some of the chipboard pieces and the Reflection Collection die cut flowers. I love the White rosette flowers, and I wanted to keep one White, but add a pop of color to the second one. I glued it to the Yellow patterned paper from the collection and then trimmed away the excess paper. I also added dimension by adhering the second flower to the layout with pop dots.
I hope you've been inspired to give circles a try on your next layout or card! Basic shapes can create a wow factor on your project, when you get creative with them!
