This die set may look complex and difficult to assemble. At least that's what I thought at first sight. After all, it ONLY has 27 parts! However, once I started to play with the dies, I realized how simple it is. I just grouped the dies according to their size and shape.
Before you know it, you can easily have a bouquet of flowers!
Once I adhered the various layers for each individual rose, I applied some Altenew inks (Cherry Blossom, Shades of Purple, Deep Blue Seas, and Green Meadows) with water. Basically, I made my own watercolor palette with the Altenew inks.
I wanted to create a simple yet interesting background for the watercolored roses. The Classy Stripes Stencil came to the rescue! I started from the upper middle point and then gradually inked toward the top to the bottom with Warm Gray Oval Set. This creates a gradient effect and helps draw the eyes to the focal point.
What makes this card even more interesting are the splatters! The three new spray colors from our March 2018 Ink Spray Bundle – Antique Silver, Pure White and Jet Black are just right for this purpose. All you need to do is take out the nozzle and drop a few onto the background and that's it. I only needed to stamp the card with “xoxo” from the stamp set Story of Us and it is now perfect!
I hope that you give this 3D Die a try if you have not created your very own bouquet yet.
