Christmas Paper Ornaments with Altenew Die-Cuts

by Aga

Hello, everyone! It’s Aga here and today I would like to share something different than a card – Christmas ornaments created with Altenew die-cut sets! These are fun and easy to create and perfect for decorating Christmas trees, chandeliers, windows, walls, or whatever your heart and imagination desire!

Altenew Peace on Earth Aga 7For all my ornaments I used a light colored paper (A4 80 gsm); the lighter weight of the paper, the better. First, I started by cutting out 24 ornaments using a die from Peace on Earth Die Set. I folded my A4 sheet twice to speed up the process. Once all the pieces were cut, I folded each one in half.

Altenew Peace on Earth Aga 1Next, I used a paper clip to hold 12 folded die-cuts together and applied glue down the spine of the ornament.

Altenew Peace on Earth Aga 2I repeated the process with 12 more pieces, put two parts of my ornament together, and let it dry for a while.

Altenew Peace on Earth Aga 3Once the glue was dried, I removed the paper clips, attached a thread hanger and slowly fanned out all the panels to create the 3D shape of my ornament. I also used different die sets for more shapes (for some of them I needed to add my thread hanger to the spine covered with glue during step two).

Altenew Peace on Earth Aga 4I really love how these turned out. Here's a look at all of them together:

These are beautiful, Aga. I just made some of these myself but I didn’t think about holding them back with the clips like you did. I’m going to be making some more and will follow your process. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely makes with us.

Wonderful! I love the ones made with the bauble dies the most. I am waiting for mine to arrive since I did order them. I love the colours you used. I can also see them with a bit of gold or silver inking on the edges too.

They are awesome Aga, I am going at once trough my craftsupplies to look for dies and paper and although I love all the colours you have used, I will make them all white. Thank you so much for sharing this stunning tutorial.
