Change Up Your Clean and Simple Card in 1 Easy Step

by Laurie Willison

Hello there, crafty friends!  It's Laurie here today with my usual clean and simple card.  Today I am using the gorgeous new set called Flowering Cistus.  I adore these blooms and love how easy they are to stamp.

Altenew FloweringCistus2I stamped out 4 of the blooms using the Golden Sunset Oval Ink Set. Those yellows are my favorite! Using the Tropical Forest Oval Ink Set, I stamped out the leaves. Just 3 easy steps for each image! I lay them all out in the arrangement above and realized that this would be my typical clean and simple layout. I love the white background to make those blooms pop!  But then I realized I needed to change one small detail to step it up a notch.

Altenew FloweringCistus4It is such an easy step to add patterned paper, but I never think of it.  Altenew has the perfect paper pack called Essential Black and White.  I love all the different patterns included but my favorite are all those beautiful stripes.

Altenew FloweringCistus6After cutting the top off of my white card base and removing one little bloom, I added the panel to a diagonal striped piece of paper from the paper pack.  I love how just a little touch of designer paper changed up the whole look of my simple card, while still keeping it quick and easy!

Altenew FloweringCistus5Next time you create a clean and simple card, I challenge you to take a look and change up one little element and see how it gives you a whole new card!

I hope you have enjoyed today's creation.  Thanks so much for coming by!

Your card with the four blooms is beautiful. Your card with three blooms and the addition of the black and white patterned paper made your card gorgeous… WOW! Such a simple step made a big impact.
