Border stamping with You are stamp set

by Sveta Fotinia

Hello everyone! Sveta is here with two one of a kind cards today. I like to use techniques that always work and give great results. Border stamping – is one of them. Look how this ornate from You are stamp set looks as a border! Such stamping allows you to make a focal point at the sentiment.

First card that I made is a little bit bigger than usual size, it's A5 sized and made of watercolor paper. I blended one-by-one our Crisp Dye Inks to make a deep blue background and made a few splashes with white watercolor:

Sea Glass Crisp Dye Ink

Ocean Waves Crisp Dye Ink

Desert Night Crisp Dye Ink

Midnight Violet Crisp Dye Ink

Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink

Then I white embossed my borders and colored parts of image with gold watercolor.

For the sentiment I used Happy Die and made handmade chipbord adhering 3 pieces of die cuts together.

My second card is a way more simple and quick to do! It's a one layer card and I used Pale Gray  cardstock for it. I also used You are stamp set, this time combining it with Painted Inspiration stamp set. I'm in love with such sentiments and you?

I made a video for you showing how I made this card using colored pencils and white pen for my coloring. Enjoy!

These cards are remarkable! Thank you for providing inspiration for the foliage stamps from the you are stamp set. I was needing some visuals to see how to use them. I love love how Altenew has such an inspiring design team. You are all so incredibly talented. I look forward to every post and especially every video.

Sveta — your cards today are awesome. Question on your first card: it looks like you colored the border stamp above your blue blended sky with gold watercolor — yes? The gold watercolor did not mix with the blue blended dye inks underneath? Did you do anything special to assure the gold watercolor remained gold above the blue background? Thanks.

Thank you, Fran!!!! Gold watercolor didn’t mixed with inks on the background as they are pretty heavy (it’s my old school watercolor set…Herlitz I suppose) and I really didn’t do anything special – it’s all my old watercolors))

Your cards were awesome. Love using the same technique with stamps but two different ways. Good inspiration for me to try to do the same. TFS
