August 2017 Inspiration Challenge

Hello everyone! Erum here today. I am hosting my first Inspiration Challenge here. The inspiration photo is based on my card that I made for my very first Altenew blog hop as a DT member. I remember being terrified if I'd be good enough but all of you loved this particular card.

So I thought why not use that as an inspiration graphic. And here is my new project using the inspiration graphic:

For my card I chose the brand new Sketchy Floral Stamp Set and Script Words Die Set. Firstly, I stamped my image using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder.

I then proceeded on to watercolour my image using liquid watercolours hence the bright, bold jewel toned look of the image. As you can see I didn't pay any attention to lights and shadows and just filled in my colours. Accordingly, I just changed the concentration of my watercolour to add a bit of interest.

In addition to adding watercolour inside the lines, I added a bit of brown outside the lines too but in an ombre' fashion going dark to light diagonally from left to right.

I placed my panel on my base using Altenew Glue Tape, after it was dry. Before doing so, I added a strip of Gold Glitter Tape to my base. I used Gold Mirror Cardstock to diecut the word “Love” from Script Words Set. Then, I heat embossed part of the sentiment “and hugs” on to black cardstock for a bit of contrast.

Finally in the end I added a few gold sequins for some extra bling.
