Project Inspiration

Today, I'll be sharing how you can add an extra dimension to inlaid die-cuts using the new Decorative Tags Die Set from our new Year-End Celebration Collection!20211111 123002 1I started by cutting the rose tag from the Decorative Tags Die Set from white cardstock. I then backed this onto another piece of white cardstock and fussy cut around the tag. Then, I created my own gradient cardstock pieces to use for die-cutting the elements of the flower.  For the pink blended cardstock, I used Baby Pink, Fuchsia, and Magenta Inks. And for the green, I used Firefly, Grass Field, and Shadow Creek Inks.

20211111 123006 1Next, I die cut the flower part of the tag from the pink cardstock 3 times. For the first layer, I added the pink die-cut pieces into place on the backed die-cut tag, flat using glue tape. In the second layer, I curled some of the petals and adhered them just at the base so the curl remained. The rest of the petals I adhered flat on top of the previous layer. For the third layer, I only added a few petals, the ones I felt would be further forward than the others. These petals were curled before adhering into place just at the base. Once the flower was complete, I cut the leaf part of the tag from the green cardstock and added these into place into the die-cut spaces.

20211111 123012 1The sentiment comes from Fancy Greetings Stamp Set and was stamped using Obsidian Ink. Before adding the finished tag into place, I added a little splatter using Pure White Ink Spray for a little added interest.
