Hello there everyone! Lydia here! Welcome to the Vintage Galore Collection Release Video Hop and Giveaway! Today, we are continuing our celebration and featuring products from our brand NEW Vintage Galore Collection!
For this video hop, I'll be showing how you can get the look of a blackout technique, but this time using markers.
Blackout Technique With Markers
I started by masking 1/2″ around all edges of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock using Satin Masking Tape. Once the outside edge was masked off, I then went ahead and ink blended a background into the center of the panel. Peach Perfect, Pink Pearl, Cotton Candy, Deep Iris, Desert Night, and Dark Night inks were used for the ink blending.
I let the panel dry before stamping the large flower outline and leaf cluster outline from Golden Days Stamp Set into place on the inked background. I used Embossing Ink to stamp the images and then heat set using Antique Gold Embossing Powder. Once all of the outlines had been embossed I stamped the last layer of each image using Antique Gold Pigment Ink. Then for the ‘blackout', I took Jet Black Artist Marker and used this to cover/color in the background. This really helps the images pop!
Then, I removed the masking tape and adhered the panel to a card base. The sentiment is from Sentiment Strips 3 Stamp Set. This was stamped onto a piece of Jet Black Cardstock using Embossing Ink and heat set with Antique Gold Embossing Powder.
