Spring Garden Project Inspiration
I have two projects to share using some of the new stand-alone dies in a beautiful spring color palette. Let's get started with the details!
My cards use a beautiful springy color scheme to fit the beautiful floral dies that are utterly reminiscent of spring: Antique Blossoms and Itty Bitty Branches. I kept the color palettes simple, using peach, coral, and a lovely sage green, but added a few touches of shimmering gold to help add a bit of luxury to the projects.
The first project uses the beautifully intricate Antique Blossoms stand-alone die. It is pretty large; one die-cut can cover almost an entire card front! I chose to allow the focus to remain almost entirely on the stunning die-cut, die cutting it three times from some soft peach cardstock and adhering the pieces together to create a dimensional die-cut.
To add a bit of extra texture and some shine to the background, I splattered some gold watercolor from the Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set. I adhered the dimensional die-cut to the sparkly blended card front using some liquid adhesive. The subtle ink blending in the background provides just enough contrast to make that dimensional die-cut pop, even though they are all cut from the same shade of cardstock!
I love the contrast of textures that the gold glitter provides to the card! The beautiful Antique Blossoms is such a showstopper that you don't need anything elaborate to create a beautiful card.
My second card features the delicate and beautiful Itty Bitty Branches dies.
I began by die-cutting several of the dies from solid-colored cardstock in a muted springtime color palette. These dies are so intricate… I love how dainty and feminine they are!
I very lightly blended a touch of Just Green ink slightly to the right of center on a muted sage green A2 card front. I wanted to provide a very subtle contrast between the sage green of the foliage and the background. I also added a double frame, cut out of matte gold foil cardstock using the Fine Frames Cover Die.
Next, I arranged the floral die-cuts in a swag over the top of the ink blending in the background, then adhered them using liquid adhesive. I added a Fancy Hugs die-cut, cut from the same matte gold foil cardstock as the double frame. The subtle touches of gold really make those beautiful blooms pop so elegantly!
