Hello there, Michelle here and welcome to the Summer Sunshine release blog hop and giveaway!
I have a card to share with you using loose watercolor layers, but first, let's take a look at this new collection of stamps, dies, stencils, and embossing folders!
Summer Sunshine Collection
We hope you are feeling the love for this release as much as we are! These products honor summertime (our favorite season!) with stunning blooms, fruit, foliage, and a beach scene! Of course, we didn't forget about the coordinating dies and simple coloring stencils to accompany the summer stamps. The icing on the cake is the new scoring board, complete with an innovative tool we customized ourselves! It is part ball stylus (for precise scoring) and part bone folder (for crisp folding). We can't wait to see what you create!
Summer Sunshine Project Inspiration – Loose Watercolor Layers
I started off my card by die-cutting one of the large tags from Terrific Tags Die Set using Watercolor Paper. I partially die cut the tag once from the bottom, extended the tag upwards, and then partially die cut it again, so that I could extend the length of the tag to create a banner piece for my stamping.

I stamped the new Captivating Blooms from the Summer Sunshine collection onto the banner using Embossing Ink. I applied Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set.
I spritzed the panel using the Fine Mister Bottle (with water) and then dropped in colors from the Artists' Watercolor 24 Pan Set. I used Cherry Blossom, Shades of Purple, and Lapis Lazuli, letting the colors blend together. The first layer was dried with a heat tool and then I went in with further layers to darken the flowers.
This creates a really vibrant watercolor look but keeps the first watercolor layer light and loose.

Once dry, the banner was adhered to an A2 white card base with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
I die cut the Simply Hello Die from white cardstock three times with a Double-Sided Adhesive Sheet on the back. They were stacked on top of each other and then adhered to the card.

I stamped the sentiment from Tiny Sentiments: Hello onto black cardstock with more Embossing Ink. I applied Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and added to the card with more Instant Dimension Foam Tape. To finish off, I added a few iridescent droplets.
I hope this has inspired you to try loose watercolor layers. Which product/s in our NEW Summer Sunshine Collection caught your eye? Comment below!
