January 2022 Inspiration Challenge – Whimsical Floral Layout!

Hello, Altenew friends! Let's welcome 2022 with another Inspiration Challenge!

Happy New Year to you all! Reiko here and today I am excited to host the January 2022 Inspiration Challenge! This month, I’ve selected a picture that was taken a few years back when I visited our favorite cafe with my daughters. Let's use this as inspiration for this month's challenge.

Inspiration Challenge Project:

Whimsical Floral Layout

To make this whimsical floral scrapbook layout, I began by choosing a pattern paper from the Live Your Dream 12×12 Paper Set and cutting it into 8.5″ x 11″ as the background paper.

This scrapbook paper set was a perfect match for this month’s color combo! Then, I adhered a 7 5/8″ x 11″ sheet of white cardstock on the background paper.

Next, I used Whimsical Garden Layering Die Set to die cut some florals and leaves out of a foam sheet and adhered them onto the cardstock.

Adding Texture With Embossing Paste

Then, I added Embossing Paste on the left and bottom of the layout by using a paintbrush.

Fun With Ink Sprays!

This is the fun part of creating this scrapbook layout!

I used Warm Sunshine, Frayed Leaf, and Coral Berry Metallic Shimmer Ink Sprays to color florals and leaves. I started by adding yellow first, and then green and red.
