Colorful Birthday Card Idea with Geraniums and Buttercups
I started making the card by creating the floral background on a Solar White Cardstock panel using the Swamp Buttercup Complete Bundle.
I used the stencil set from the bundle to create the floral elements. I didn't use the die from the set in its “usual” application – to die cut the floral elements. But I did use it to help me with the stencil placement, as the die shows better the final element than separate layering stencils.
I used Canyon Clay, Burnt Red, Velvet, and Espresso Dye Inks to create flowers. Teal Cave and Galactic Stream Dye Inks were used to create the leaves.
After finishing stenciling the floral elements, I added the texture to the panel by die-cutting it with the Rattan Stripes Die. Followed by adhering the panel to a slightly smaller panel to keep all the die-cut pieces together.
Next, I added black ad brown spray splatters onto the panel and foam-mounted it onto a teal card base using the Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
The sentiment was made using the One-Go Birthday Stamp & Die Bundle, by white embossing it onto a Jet Black Cardstock and die-cutting it after that. I popped up the sentiment onto the card, which finished it off.
Using a cover plate die helped me add a slight texture to the stenciled background, which added some interest.
