Now, on to my card sample.
To create my card, I die cut all of the pieces in the layering die set from watercolor cardstock and then painted them with watercolor paints, using mainly the Grapevine paint color in the Watercolor 36 Pan Set, adding more water for a lighter paint color or some black paint to deepen the color, but using the package guide for help to know which layer to make lighter or darker. I did the same for the leaves, using shades of Evergreen and Tropical Forest in the 24 and 36 pan paint sets.
I used the package guide again to know how to layer the flower and leaves, adhering everything together. For the background, I stamped a portion of the Sketchy Floral Stamp Set to stamp a loose arrangement onto a piece of pale gray cardstock, heat setting with Platinum Embossing Powder. Then I trimmed the bottom of the card panel to leave room for a secondary sentiment.
I stamped a sentiment from the Sentiment Strips Stamp Set and heat set with Platinum Embossing powder again. Then I cut a narrow strip of colored cardstock to match the watercolor painted flower layers and adhered it below the stamped card panel with plenty of room for the stamped sentiment. I die cut 3 layers plus a partial layer of the “thanks” die-cut word to stack up and adhere over the edge of the layered flower and the colored cardstock strip.
I left it plain to finish, foregoing even the usual enamel dots or splatters!
