Welcome to the Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Camellia Waterhouse Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I'm super excited to be helping introduce this latest addition to the Paint-A-Flower family.
These beautiful stamp sets are an absolute joy to color in whatever medium you choose. They're a great size, and so beautifully detailed that they're great on their own or colored as intricately as you choose! Here's a sneak peek at this month's Camellia Waterhouse set:
The Camellia Waterhouse outline stamp set includes a gorgeous, giant floral cluster that is big enough to cover almost an entire card front on its own, but can easily be rotated to be oriented to fill the card front in any way you choose! If you enjoy these Paint-A-Flower sets, you can always subscribe to be guaranteed to receive them each month, and at a discount!
Camellia Waterhouse Outline Stamp Set Project Inspiration
I have a pretty painted project for you today, so let's get started with the details!

First, I heat embossed the main floral image on the top of an A2 panel of Altenew's Watercolor Paper using silver embossing powder. I oriented the stamp so that it looked like the bouquet was dripping down from the top of a trellis or out of a bowl of cut flowers (this is how my mind sees things when I'm coming up with a card design), then trimmed it with sharp scissors after embossing. Embossing the image exactly where you want it to be placed on your finished design helps make an assembly that much simpler when you're ready!

Next, I used the Artists' 24 Pan Watercolor set to add pretty pink and lavender colors to the camellias. I added a few touches of pink to the leaves, as though they were picking up reflections of the sunset or the flowers around them. I love that the images are so detailed as to not need much help with shadows and painted details, but they are large enough that you can go to town adding those details if you wanted to!

Once I had finished painting my flowers, I turned my attention to the card base. I used the Small Blending Tools to very lightly blend first some Magenta and then Purple Wine inks around the edge of a white A2 card base. The combination of these two inks creates a very similar shade to the pinky lavender of the camellias! For the greeting, I stamped the separate pieces on white cardstock using Andromeda ink, then fussy cut them with sharp scissors. I adhered the painted floral panel and greeting pieces to the blended card base using Instant Dimension Foam Tape for lots of depth and texture on the card front, finishing the project off with some shiny metallic gems.
Well, that's all for my project featuring the Camellia Waterhouse outline stamp set today. Now for some fun giveaway information!
