Build-A-Garden: Rosa Gallica
Add an attractive and sophisticated statement to your canvas! This kit includes a stamp set featuring two gorgeous clusters of the Gallic rose, a species of roses native to southern and central Europe. Each cluster is composed of a large central rose surrounded by leaves, a bud, and sprays of mini flowers. Today, I have a tag to share with you, showing ways to add subtle details to clean and simple projects.

Focal Point – Build-A-Garden: Rosa Gallica
I want the focal point of my tag to be the main floral image with accompanying subtle details around it. One way to make a big impact on a project is to use a large image. In this instance, I am making a tag, so the image appears even larger than it is and creates more of a focal point.
I stamped the image from Build-A-Garden: Rosa Gallica stamp set onto Classic Crest 110lb Solar White Cardstock using Permanent Black Ink. I then colored the image using stencils and ink blending.

I placed each stencil down using Satin Masking Tape to secure it in place. For the main flower, I used Lapis Lazuli Crisp Dye Inks (all four shades). I love how much detail the last layer of stenciling gives. It really makes the flower pop off of the tag!
The stamens of the flower use Sunray Ink, the small flowers use Aqualicious, and the leaves use the three lightest shades from the Green Valley Crisp Dye Inks Collection.
I blended the layers using a combination of Small and Mini Ink Blending Brushes, depending on the size of the area and how much saturation of color I wanted.

Add Subtle Detail to the Tag
The image was die cut using the coordinating dies. I then took a panel of white cardstock and ran it through my die-cutting machine with the Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die.
The panel was then die cut using one of the larger tags from the Terrific Tags Die Set. The debossing in the background is so pretty! The die pierces little holes into the panel/tag and creates some subtle detail behind Rosa Gallica.
The image was adhered on top with Instant Dimension Foam Tape, and the excess was cut off the sides using scissors.
TOP TIP: Adding different layers with foam tape help to add interest to clean and simple projects in a quick and easy way!

Finishing Touches
I then stamped the sentiment from the stamp set onto black cardstock using Embossing Ink. I applied Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and added to the tag with more Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
I tied a piece of twine through the top of the tag and tied it in a bow, and then finished off by embellishing it with Cool Summer Night Enamel Dots. I really love the blue, aqua, and green color combination!
I hope I have inspired you to add subtle details to clean and simple projects. You can watch the full process video below or on YouTube.
