August 2022 Bold & Beautiful Collection Release Video Hop + Giveaway ($200 Worth of Prizes!)

Hello there, everyone! Happy Friday! Lydia here. Today, I'll share a great way to get a beautiful masked look with no masking required.

Bold & Beautiful Project Inspiration

As with all masking types of techniques, you have to stamp the image that is in the forefront.

I stamped the largest flower from Happy Flowers Stamp Set into place onto a 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ panel using Volcano Lake and Lagoon Inks for the petals and Chamomile and Snapdragon Inks for the flower center.

When this was stamped, I then die cut around the image using the coordinating die. Once die cut, I removed the stamped image from the panel. Now, when we stamp over this negative part, it will give the ‘masking' effect.

I then stamped the second flower using Pinkalicious and Rubellite Inks for the petals and Chamomile and Snapdragon for the flower center. Then I die cut around this image as before, before stamping the leaves using Grass Field and Shadow Creek Inks, and then die cutting them.

I then trimmed the die-cut panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″. Then, I placed this into position onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base and adhered the stamped die-cuts into place through the die-cut opening.

The panel was then adhered into place using foam tape. The sentiments come from One-Go Birthday Greetings and were white heat-embossed onto Jet Black Cardstock.
