Artists’ Gouache Set Release Video Hop + Giveaway ($200 Worth of Prizes!)

Artists' Gouache Paints on Black Cardstock

I started by stamping the large image from the Gracious Peonies Stamp Set into the center of a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of black watercolor cardstock.

I used Antique Gold Pigment Ink to stamp the image and then heat set using Rose Gold Embossing Powder.  Then, I colored the image using the Artists' Gouache: Strolling Through New York Set. For the purple/pink flower, I used Prussian Blue, Ultraviolet and Coral Red, Primary Yellow and Ruby Red for the yellow/orange flower, Prussian Blue, Lagoon Green and Misty Teal for the small bud, and Lagoon Green and Pistachio Green for the leaves.

TIP! Painting with gouache on black cardstock is the opposite of painting with watercolors on white cardstock – with gouache on dark cardstock, you need to add more paint to where you want it to be brightest.

Once I had colored the images and they had dried, I then cut the panel in half, so I then had two 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ painted card panels.

For the sentiments, I used the Versatile Greetings Die Set and Linear Spiral Stamp Set. The splatter was created using Metallic Watercolors and Pure White Ink Spray.
