For this event I designed an easy way to mass-produce holiday cards.
Sometimes it can be intimidating to design a card from scratch that is simple enough to mass-produce, yet has a striking design. This process can be made easier with the help of store-bought card bases. Not only do you get to skip the cutting, scoring and folding, but you can also get some gorgeous holiday-themed card bases as in the picture above. This set had 60 card bases with 10 unique designs, and I purchased it for just $5! To personalize the cards, I arranged a large Poinsettia with three ferns (Pinsettia & Pine), and added sentiments in various ways depending on the design of the card.
The mass-production part was stamping and coloring the Poinsettia, die-cutting them, as well as stamping and die-cutting the ferns. This may sound like a lot of work, but it took me about 4-5 hours to prepare for 36 cards.
Then it was time for the fun part- assembling the pieces on the card bases.
The sentiment on this card is from our Halftone Holiday stamp set, and It was stamped on a 1/2″ wide strip of white card stock. All the elements were adhered flat with glue for easy mailing. The other sentiments that I used were from Label Love and Festive Silhouette stamp sets.
If you want a much simpler solution (no time for coloring and die-cutting!) the following set of cards are as simple as they can get:
A set of 25 card bases plus envelopes was purchased for just $2.49, and stamping the Winter Cottage and the sentiments took less than 25 minutes! The sentiments are from Halftone Holiday stamp set, and the winter scene is from a gift set that you have received or will receive if you place an order at the Altenew store between December 11 and December 20, which is today!
Altogether, it took me about 10 hours over two days to create 85 cards, not bad for a last minute project! :)
It’s not a party without a prize – and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today’s prize is generously supplied by Altenew so you’ll definitely want to get your hands on it!
