How to Use BEAUTIFUL Floral Silhouettes on Cards | Take 2 with Therese + Video!

by Therese Calvird

Hi, it's Therese, and I am back with another edition of Take 2 with Therese. Today's post shares two ideas to use floral silhouettes on handmade cards! These beautiful cards feature the Build-A-Flower: Giant Bellflower.

How to Use Floral Silhouettes on Cards

Idea #1: Bold Floral Silhouette on a Blended Background

You can create an ombre blended background in any color that you like. I chose to use the gorgeous Sweet Dreams Crisp Dye Inks.

And to give the floral silhouette a bold dramatic look I used the Obsidian Pigment Ink.  The panel was die cut with the Rounded Rectangles Die Set then popped up on the front of the card.

Next, I stamped a sentiment with the Fragile Foliage Stamp Set.

Idea #2: Adding Color with Pencils

The technique here is another fun one, especially if you like to color!

This time, I stamped the image using the Dew Drops Crisp Dye Ink.  Then, I was able to color and shade the silhouette bouquet using the Woodless Coloring Pencils

BONUS TIP!

If you are short on time then another great option would be to only add ‘shading' using a similar colored pencil to your stamped image.

This time I popped up a Fancy Hello Die with a heart Black & White Enamel Dot.
