Hello, Altenew friends! This is Virginia here. Have you checked out the current January 2020 Inspiration Challenge? The color combo is really out of my norm as I don't use purple enough. Altenew Inks are the best when it comes to adding depths to your stamped design. Today's card is loosely based on the current January Inspiration Challenge colors.
I love using our Build-A-Flower sets with various color combinations. This latest Triumph Tulip set is perfect for this challenge. I used more red in this project, however, you can use orange as the challenge logo suggested.
I enjoy building a floral scene and always start with stamping the background. Since the tulip is large in size, I stamped the leaves with various greens such as Hunter Green and Frayed Leaf.
For the Triumph Tulip, I used Crimson as my darkest shade and gradually added the depth with each color-layering.
TIP:
To build up the layers of colors, start with the background (add a tint of color), stamp image with various shades. Masking is also is a great way to create depth. To add dimensions, pop up a few pieces on top of the stamped images. You now have many layers of colors without adding lots of bulk!
I love the small leaves and branches that come with the Triumph Tulip set. To add the dimensions, I popped up the small floral branch (stamped in Grape Agate).
Enamel Dots and Forest Glades Metallic Ink Spray came in handy when adding details and interest. If you are unsure about the color layering, the Triumph Tulip & Ink Bundle offers great options!
I hope that you love this deep and rich color combo. The wonders of nature never cease to amaze me. I hope that you will take on this challenge and create something rich and colorful. Thank you for stopping by!

This is the most beautiful card. I love the different colors you used together. The Sugar Plum set and the Cherry Blossom set colors work so well together. I love the arrangemt of your bouquet! . I was pretty sure I would be ordering the new Triumph Tulip after seeing all the great cards in blog hop, but seeing this card makes me absolutely sure I will be adding it to my stamp collection.
So beautifully done, thanks for sharing your methodology!

I really enjoyed reading the blog today and learning about colour and depth and dimension with the different shades. It is such a pretty arrangement and the colours go so well together. I love how the altenew different shade families make stamping so easy! Thanks so much for today’s post!
Beautiful colors and dimension.
I like how you used the inspiration challenge to set the color for this card. Really like the grouping of the side flowers and leaves.
