Hello, Altenew Friends! Reiko here, I'm sharing a super cute shrink-plastic charm made with the Paint-A-Flower: French Marigold Outline Stamp Set. I created the charm to decorate my petite 3-ring binder art journal.
For the previous Altenew Instagram Hop, I made this little 3-ring binder art journal. I love this French Marigold outline stamp set from the new February PAF subscription release – the stamps are so pretty!
Making an Adorable French Marigold Charm With Shrink Plastic
To make the charm, I simply stamped the floral outline images from the PAF set on a sheet of shrink plastic. I used the Obsidian Pigment Ink to stamp the image, as it is best for mixed media projects like these.
After stamping it on the shrink plastic, I used an embossing heater and it worked well. The floral image shrunk to a smaller size upon application of the heat. Even though it shrank, the floral outline didn't lose its beautiful details. Talk about a nifty hack to resize your stamped images!

I love this idea for journals, so pretty!
Definitely worth trying!
Thank you! It’s really fun to create.
Thanks for the great idea of making a shrink plastic charm.
I have found that it is better to put a hole in the plastic before heating otherwise work very fast while it’s still hot to pierce a hole for attaching a ring. Which method did you use?
Thanks again.
Hi! I put a hole before heating as you said. That’s easier for me too. Enjoy creating yours!
I love this idea! It can work on so many projects not just journals! Thanks for the inspiration!
Hope this inspired you to create something beautiful today!
