A Beautiful Hello in Less than 5 minutes…

by Laurie Willison

Hello crafty friends!  It's Laurie here with a fast and easy card that you can make in less than 5 minutes!  This beautiful new bloom is from Altenew's latest release and is called Delicate Bouquet.

Altenew DelicateBouquet1

To create this card, I put the bloom image in my Misti and stamped it in Obsidian Black Ink.  Next, I grabbed some chalks.  Can you believe I used my kids chalk?  Using a small pom pom, I added in 4 colors….a light pink and a dark pink for the flower shadows.  Then I used a light green and a dark green for the leaves.

To finish off the card, I used a sentiment that I heat embossed from Sentiment Strips 2.  I popped that up on some foam tape and then added in some clear drops to complete the card.  This bloom is just so gorgeous and easy to color, you could make several cards at once!

I hope you have enjoyed my quick card today.  Thanks for stopping in!

Wow! What a gorgeous card! How fun that you colored it with chalk. :)

Love your card. Back in the day I got and still own colored chalks for paper crafting. Do I recall that it could smear so you were supposed to spray it with a fixative? Did you and what should we use? I just came across one little stacking set the other day at the back of the back of my stash and would love to use them. Thanks.

I used chalks a number of years ago on my cards as well. I always sprayed them with aerosol hair spray to keep the chalks from smudging. Hope this helps.

Lovely card, beautiful softness to the florals. Inspires me to get my chalks out of my stash and use them again. TFS.

Beautiful! I haven’t used (or even thought of) my chalks for ages. Time to pull them out and try this!

I like the simplicity of the card. Great use of the chalk. I don’t have any, but it would be interesting to try a new coloring medium.

Love the soft, dreamy colouring… I wouldn’t have guessed chalk. Beautiful :-) (and, I.m sure your kids didn’t mind).

Love the card and I, too, need to pull my chalks out of the drawer and use them. However, I’m also interested in a good fixative that would work. Anyone out there have a suggestion?

This is just plaon gorgeous and beautiful…and the idea to use a pom pom is brilliant – tried paper, tissue, cotton, waded up anything to get that effect — nope. Thanks for the inspiration!
