Hello, Altenew friends! This is Virginia here. I am excited to share multiple ways of using your Altenew stamps and dies. Today's post will give you some creative prompts and hopefully, get your creative juices flowing. I am sharing a few cards with Craft-A-Flower: Rose Layering Die Set with some visuals to help you understand the ideas.
1 – Use a negative sentiment die
The new Essential Sentiment Strips Die was released just in time! These negative dies are absolutely amazing for adding sentiments without too much work. I used Jet Black Cardstock and ran it through my Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine along with the Die Cutting Metal Shim and that's it! Don't forget that you can use the bits of alphabet for sentiments. OR you can inlay BOTH with different colors!
2 – Use vellum
There is something special about using transparency. The lightness of paper conveys that extra softness. The delicate die-cut leaf adds just the right touch.
3 – Hand-stitching
If you can sew a button, you can hand-stitch your card! I like how the cross-stitch secured the gold leaf and kept it in place.
4 – Die cut your own embellishment
The gold leaf from Craft-A-Flower: Rose Layering Die Set makes a lovely embellishment. The Gold Foil Paper is very handy and goes a long way! Imagine how you can use your small leaf and floral die as embellishments.
5 – Use colored cardstock
You must try using colored card stock if you use predominantly white cardstock. The colored cardstock makes the design extra bright and happy.
6 – Use die with foam for stamping
Inspired by the amazing Lydia Evan's video (see here), I have been enjoying using the dies as stamps. By die-cutting the die with foam, you are able to use the Craft-A-Flower: Rose Layering Dies as stamps. Honestly, this is quite a game-changer for all of your floral dies and more. I know you will be hooked as I am. Thank you, Lydia!
7 – Stamping with gradient effect
Notice the various greens and yellows? These gradient colors are made possible by mini ink cubes. I find it so easy to add multiple colors with the mini ink cube sets such as Cerulean Skies, Sweet Dreams, and Sunflower Field.
You can reuse the foam if it keeps the shape after stamping. In addition, you can use any kind of foam with various thicknesses and colors.
These cards were all created with Craft-A-Flower: Rose Layering Dies with various techniques and supplies.
If you have not tried any of these 7 things, it's time to explore the possibilities and have some stamping and die-cutting fun!
