3 Ways to Get Festive!

by Laurie Willison

Hello, everyone! It's Laurie here today, sharing a new kit called Festive Florets. This beautiful new stamp set is perfect for quick and easy holiday cards. My favorite part? There are also coordinating stencils to add color to the images. Let me show you 3 different ways to use this awesome new set!

Altenew FestiveFlorets12To create this first card, I stamped the main image in Obsidian Pigment Ink in the top corner. Next, I used a straight edge and a thin marker to create a frame 1/2″ around the card front. Using one of the larger sentiments from the stamp set, I stamped it in black ink in the opposite corner.

Altenew FestiveFlorets11To finish off the card, I used the coordinating stencil to blend in the color. I just love this way to add color to images. My favorite kind of card is a quick and simple card, so these stencils are right up my alley!

Altenew FestiveFlorets10Another fun way to use larger images in a stamp set is to create a background.

Altenew FestiveFlorets9Altenew has a gorgeous gold ink called Antique Gold Pigment Ink, and it worked perfectly to add in some shine to this red cardstock.

Altenew FestiveFlorets8After covering the red cardstock panel, I added a couple of score lines along the bottom and a few little sequins for an extra pop of shine. I die cut a vellum tag from Terrific Tags Die Set and then heat embossed the sentiment in gold embossing powder.

Altenew FestiveFlorets7One last way to create a quick card is to use one of the smaller images from the set to create a fun focal point.

Altenew FestiveFlorets6I used the 2 small branches in the set and stamped them repeatedly on an aqua card panel. To add some extra detail, I flicked on some white paint.

Altenew FestiveFlorets5After stamping the sentiment on a white strip, I added that to the aqua card panel and added it to a white card base. Super quick and easy!
