3 easy DIY oval creations that are sure to make you SMILE!

by Laurie Willison

Hey, everybody!  It's Laurie here today with 3 quick and simple creations using the new Nesting Ovals Die Set. These cards are sure to give you ideas on how to use this awesome new die set in several ways. Let's get started!

Altenew NestingOvals3With this first card, I used the largest oval die to pop up the main image and sentiment. Just adding in the shaped layer gives a little extra detail to an otherwise clean and simple card.

Altenew NestingOvals8 12The dies have an embossed edge which gives such a finished look. Using the blooms from Floral Minimalism Stamp & Die Bundle, I created a simple bouquet and finished it off with a sentiment from the Beauty Within Stamp Set.

Altenew NestingOvals2To add another smile to today's creations, I used the Ovals to make a rainbow.

Altenew NestingOvals8The rainbow was super easy to create by stacking each of the ovals. I die cut all of the colors and then cut them in half. The best part is I have a second rainbow to use on another card!

Altenew NestingOvals9I had to keep going with the Smile theme and added a sentiment from Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set to finish off the card.

Altenew NestingOvals7I wanted to share one more easy way to use the Ovals, so for my last card, I created a frame.

Altenew NestingOvals6Any size frame is possible just by combining any 2 of the oval dies. I used the largest die on this project and popped it up on foam tape on the card front.

Altenew NestingOvals5I added another simple bouquet from Floral Minimalism Stamp Set and a Just Smile sentiment from Frilled Petals Stamp Set.

Altenew NestingOvals4I hope you have enjoyed my projects today and that they made you smile! Thanks for coming by, and enjoy your day!

Fantastic cards! Using the ovals to make a rainbow is awesome, really makes me want to run down and look at my dies to see how I can use them “outside the box”! Thank you for the inspiration!

Love your cards. They did make me smile. The rainbow is such a great inventive idea to use oval dies. I will be trying that with my dies. Thank you for sharing!

What wonderful ideas to take a very simple card to the next level without lots of extra supplies! Many of us already have nesting dies (even if they aren’t oval, could be worth a go) and don’t often use them because how many oval sentiments do you really need? Thanks for opening my mind to another idea.
