3 Inspiring Cards with Inspirational Quotes Stamps and Dies

by May Sukyong Park

Hello Altenew friends!  I'm back today with three new cards to share, all made using chiefly, the Inspirational Quotes Stamps and Dies, but with a few other products and die cuts thrown in for good measure.  Or variety.

The Inspirations Quotes Stamp Set includes a lovely array of heartfelt and sincere sentiments, but it was the beautifully simple floral bough arrangement, plus some leaves and bud images in the set that I really focused on for today's cards.

Let me show you!

Card #1:

The similarity between all three of the cards today, is the common color scheme and materials used.  I stamped the floral images from this stamp set with Embossing Ink, onto vellum paper, heat embossed with silver embossing powder and die cut the outlined images, then combined that with kraft, white and green cardstock, ribbon, thread and embossing paste.

On this card, after die cutting the flower bough, plus the additional leaves, I also used the coordinating dies to cut a piece of A2-sized Desert Storm kraft cardstock, reserving the top portion for the top of the card design.

I trimmed the top part of the kraft cardstock to fit on the top of the folded card base and glued it down.  Then, I put tiny dots of white glue on the back of the vellum, on the embossed outlines so that they could disappear as much as possible, and snugged the vellum die cut up into the hole left open in the kraft die cut.

I tucked in a couple more silver embossed outline leaves, as well as some solid green cardstock leaves die cut with the Just Leaves Die set.  Then I stamped one of the sentiments in the stamp set near the bottom of the card, heat embossed again with silver embossing powder and tied some silver cord and green silk ribbon (from my stash) around the top of the card panel before permanently affixing it to the folded card base.

The next 2 cards are a fun conglomeration of products and techniques!  For the first, I started with an A2 sized card panel of white cardstock and using a palette knife, the Square Weave Pattern Stencil and some embossing paste, I smeared a patch on the bottom left of the card panel and let it dry.

Once dry, I began piling on the various bits and pieces, keeping to the uniting color scheme of white, kraft, green and silver.  I started with three circle frames from the Fine Frames Circle Dies, then added several of the silver embossed vellum Inspirational Quotes die cuts and some frond die cuts from the Parlor Palms Die set.

As well, I tucked in a stamped and die cut leaf/branch from the Vase Fillers Stamp set and finally, I die cut a narrow tag from the Terrific Tags Dies as a background for the die cut “thanks” to sit on.  The “thanks” come from the Framed Thanks Die, and I just trimmed the word off to use alone.  I used more of the same ribbon and silver thread, plus some thin jute to tie a knot on the tag.

Card #3:

The last card is all of the same things as the card above, but a different combination of products.  I began with more embossing paste and used the Patchwork Kite stencil this time.

After the paste was dry, I first layered the larger of the two Fine Frames Square Dies, then the vellum and silver embossed Inspirational Quotes flowers.  I used some Vase Fillers stamped die cuts again, stamped with Fresh Leaf dye ink, tucking them underneath the vellum flowers.

Next, are some more Parlor Palm fronds die cut from green and white cardstock and tucked behind the leaves at the top, and finally the smaller of the two Fine Frames Square die-cuts along with the “thanks” die cut from kraft with the Signature Words Die set.  As well, I added a kraft die-cut from the Just Leaves die set in the bottom corner.

I actually stamped and die cut all of the elements specially for these cards today, but this is the style of card that goes together very quickly and nicely from leftover bits after other projects are created and complete, so I encourage you to stamp and die cut extras whenever you make a card and store them in the packaging with the stamp set!

Thank you for stopping by and have a marvelous day!
