Celebrating Parents Card Drive 2024 | Altenew

Welcome to this year's Celebrating Parents Card Drive!

Do you want to find easy ways to share joy this season? Donate your handmade cards to a meaningful cause! Join this unique card drive and spread love, one card at a time!

As Mother's Day and Father's Day draw near, it can be a challenging period for seniors residing in nursing homes or shelters. We want these individuals to feel cherished, appreciated, and respected. That is the reason why we arranged the Celebrating Parents Card Drive, as we have done in the past.

As crafters and card makers, we know how meaningful it is to share our handmade creations, and this card drive will help you do just that!

JOIN OUR CELEBRATING PARENTS CARD DRIVE 2024!

We will be collecting handmade cards between February 26 to April 19, and each donor is eligible to win one of FIVE $30 Altenew gift certificates! If you use #AltenewCardDrive when you share your Celebrating Parents cards on social media, you are entered to win one of three additional $15 gift certificates! The winners will be announced on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Here are some important reminders and guidelines:

  • Cards may be for Mother’s Day and/or Father’s Day. Sentiments should be generic – a specific greeting such as “so happy you’re my dad” wouldn’t really work.
  • Please sign your name on the inside of each card. Feel free to include a note and where you are from.
  • Note: Please avoid including any vulgar language, promotional material, or religious messages in your cards.
  • Kindly put each card in an envelope and make sure they are not sealed.
  • To enter the giveaway, please include a post-it note with your name and email address.
  • We would love for you to use Altenew products, but of course, your cards may feature products from other companies!
  • Send your cards to:
    Altenew
    ATTN: Card Drive
    3005 Milton Ave
    Syracuse, NY 13209

If you have any questions or would like us to send cards to a local shelter or a nursing home near you, please email us at support@altenew.com with the subject line “Celebrating Parents Card Drive.”

Hello from WI! This is such a wonderful idea! I adore the watercolor brushes but have yet to dive into the alcohol marker experience! Looking forward to trying something new to me. I can imagine a lot of project inspiration stemming from these lovely products! It’s so nice as a parent to gift cards to my little ones and to send a hug and smile to my own parents!

This is a great project. How kind & thoughtful! But, what about Canada? Could we not donate in our Country of origin? Serious question here & I would very much appreciate a response asap. Thanks in advance Altenew.

We understand your kind inquiry and appreciate your enthusiasm for spreading thoughtful gestures through card drives. Altenew had already partnered with a senior home at this time. However, it would be a lovely thought that you are thinking of having it in your country of origin. You can reach out to senior homes in your area as well and give out cards. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach us out via emailing support@altenew.com.

I have many cards made and would love to share with these deserving parents. They should be celebrated and what a beautiful way to help them feel honored.
Thank you so much!❤️

I have lots of homemade cards but no Mother’s or Father’s Day Cards? Do you still want other cards. I would really like to contribute.

Thank you so much for your willingness to contribute to our card drive! We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness and the time you’ve invested in making these cards.

While we primarily focus on collecting cards for specific occasions like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, there might be other ways you can help. You can reach out to local organizations in your area as well. They would surely love getting cards too. :) It may not be tied up with Altenew’s Card Drive, but it is a nice gesture to make someone’s day extra special by giving inspiring cards. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach us out via emailing support@altenew.com.

Sorry but this is kind of a bad idea. Are you only going to give the cards to confirmed parents residing in nursing homes and exclude non parents? Or make those whose kids don’t visit feel worse? Not everyone is not a parent, and sometimes due to very painful circumstances that may be hard to accept, especially at the end of life living alone in an unpleasant environment. And just because that is the case doesn’t mean we have to pretend the fantasy picture is real. How about honoring our elders for their general wisdom? Very tone deaf.

You bring up a great point.

While our initial focus was on collecting Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards, we understand the desire to spread kindness more broadly. We happily accept all types of well-wishing cards, including those that are more generic and suitable for a wider range of recipients.

Our goal is to provide thoughtful messages of encouragement and appreciation to the elders of our partner organization. The specific occasion on the card is less important than the heartfelt sentiment it conveys.

We appreciate your understanding and hope this clarifies our approach. We’d be thrilled to receive your beautiful homemade cards and contribute to spreading smiles and warmth!

This is a wonderful surprise for those who have never had children, those who have not seen nor heard from them in a while…the list goes on. I look forward to mailing plenty of cards…What’s next!

I would like to start a card drive in Minnesota. Can you help me or give me any advice on how to start? Pennie

Certainly! You can start small. Ask your crafting friends to send you cards that they want to give to others. Then, find an organization/community/establishment you want to do this outreach. :) If you have other questions, please feel free to reach out to us at support@altenew.com
