Welcome to this year's Celebrating Parents Card Drive! Are you looking for simple ways to give back and spread happiness? Donate your handmade cards to a very special cause! Come and join this special card drive and help spread love, one card at a time!

Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are approaching, and this can be a difficult time for seniors who are in nursing homes or shelters. We want these important people to feel loved, celebrated, and honored, so we have organized the Celebrating Parents Card Drive just as we have in previous years.

As card makers, we know how meaningful it is to share our handmade creations and this card drive will help you do just that!

JOIN OUR CELEBRATING PARENTS CARD DRIVE 2023!

We will be collecting handmade cards between February 28 to April 17, and each donor is eligible to win one of FIVE $30 Altenew gift certificates! If you use #AltenewCardDrive when you share your Celebrating Parents cards on social media, you are entered to win one of three additional $15 gift certificates! The winners will be announced on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, 2023.

Here are some important reminders and guidelines:

  • Cards may be for Mother’s Day and/or Father’s Day. Sentiments should be generic – a specific greeting such as “so happy you’re my dad” wouldn’t really work.
  • Please sign your name on the inside of each card. Feel free to include a note and where you are from.
  • Note: Please avoid including any vulgar language, promotional material, or religious messages in your cards.
  • Kindly put each card in an envelope and make sure they are not sealed.
  • To enter the giveaway, please include a post-it note with your name and email address.
  • We would love for you to use Altenew products, but of course, your cards may feature products from other companies!
  • Send your cards to:
    Altenew
    ATTN: Card Drive
    3005 Milton Ave
    Syracuse, NY 13209

If you have any questions or would like us to send cards to a local shelter or a nursing home near you, please email us at support@altenew.com with the subject line “Celebrating Parents Card Drive.”

I lost my mom a few years ago, and my left us dad last year. I made special cards for my mother and father for their special day and for their birthdays, I was very touched to find out that they had kept the cards all these years. Thank you for the opportunity to once again send a little love by making mothers and fathers day cards.

Hi. Any specifications or things that we should avoid like sequins, glitter, etc.? Thanks.

When you say “generic sentiments” do you mean “Happy Mother’s/Father’s Day” or would cards with these sentiments qualify as well: hello, miss you, thinking of you, love you, hugs, you’re amazing, etc. Thanks!

I stopped making Mother’s Day cards years ago because my mom passed in 2003 and I grew up without a dad. So I’m excited to do this for the seniors who are sadly forgotten or not visited enough in home.

This is an awesome drive. I have a few friends who are seniors and little things go a long way with then. Seniors, even when they have children and grands, often feel neglected she alone. This card drive will brighten their day.

I lost my best friend, my Mom, just a couple of days before her Thanksgiving birthday in 2022.
We were partners in a manufacturing design business for years and our collaboration was loads of fun. After my Dad passed, she was very sad, but in felt lucky to have taken care of her the last 12 years of her life.

I cannot wait to make some cards to try to bring smiles and joy to some older “folks” 🙂❤️

What a great idea. I’ve always made some generic cards for the various nursing homes, but I will add Altenew to that list. Linda from Chandler, AZ

Do all the products must be from Altenew or just some?
